Planning to buy used car from private party? need help?

I am looking to buying 08 corolla with low miles (45k) from craigslist. it is being selling at 3000 below kbb value. Says everything is fine, but i dont know if i can trust. What do i need to make sure before i buy the car. please provide a checklist or link to checklist. The more comprehensive the better. I am also gonna show it a mechanic. Thanks|||If it's that much below blue book value, I would ask for the VIN number and get a carfax report on it. It will tell you if there were any problems, stolen, wrecked, etc. It's not always 100% dependable, but I would definitely look into it before I bought it.|||Yeah take it to a Mechanic to have it checked out before you agree to anything.|||Since it's on Craig's List the first thing I'd want to know is if the seller actually owns the car. Ask to see the title and id.
