What effect does cigarette smoke have on the value of an automobile?

I suspect that the auto would be more difficult to sell but I was curious if it actually played a factor in value calculations like you would find in KBB or some other auto website(Edmonds). I found a used car I like but it smells like stale smoke which put an end to any deal immediately. I am not trying to insult smokers but I have problems when around smoke. What effect does cigarette smoke have on the value of an automobile?
I don't know how car values are figured but I know it is very difficult to remove the smoke. My significant other bought a used car(got a "great" deal). He sprayed it with Febreeze and it smelled of smoke and febreeze. It was worse than the smoke only. Febreeze is good for somethings but it didn't help with the car. I will try the steam clean-maybe that would help. Right now, I hate that vehicle whether the price was great or not.
use it for your advantage get some taken off the price or tell them to clean it free of charge if you want the car don't think of it as a negative think of it as a positiveWhat effect does cigarette smoke have on the value of an automobile?
