How do I bargain for a better price on a used car?

The vehicle is actually listed at less than KBB value, but so are several others on other lots. They are all about the same price range. I am looking at a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder for around $17000.|||Try these links. They have some good info|||Keep repeatedly saying "We're miles apart" any car at a dealership can easily take $2000 off the price tag. OH and never buy from a Stealership. You could save alot by going with a private party seller.|||When you believe a used car appears high and the dealer refuses to lower the cost.

Simple say to the dealer:

"You must really think highly of this car not to drop the price?"

Dealer: yes we do.

"Ok, with so much integrity toward this used car could you supply a 1-2 year warranty along with a loaner program in the event a problem arises; no added cost"

The latter will provide an authentic representation as to the dealer and his car.|||Be prepared to walk out and if need be do it.

Go in with your Top you'll go and don't move from that. Also know what you want for payments and don't move on it. They all have coupons from the maker of the cars that you can apply to your payment each month. Now they only tell you about them when they are about to loose the sale.

Good Luck. Doc
